SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

TO RUN CIM SUCCESSFULLY, YOU NEED SOME HARDWARE:

IS MY MODEM SUITABLE?

As a rough rule, example Intertex and other European modems should work in Europe (Except in Great Britain, which has it's own CallerId-system, at least new Pace-modems should work there), Supra and other US-made in (Norhern) America and so on. Contact your local phone company and refer your modems manual for further details.

To test if your modem has the CallerId support: Type each of the following strings in a terminal program (like Term) followed by 'Enter' until your modem responds with an "OK". If you get an "ERROR" response, that means that this is not the string for your modem and you should try the next one.

Once you get the "OK" response from your modem dosen't mean the CID feature will work in your country because there are different variations of CallerId data transfer:

Ask someone to call you and watch the result. If Caller ID is working correctly, you will see RING on the terminal screen followed by one or more additional lines of data. Its advised to store the correct settings after found. Usually its done with command 'AT&W'. Remember to verify CID settings after every firmware upgrade.

CallSign /Distinctive Ring may also require a special CallSign support in your modem. Intertex (PowerBit, Telia) owners: Distinctive Ring is enabled with command: 'AT-SDR=7'.

CIM has been developed and tested on the following platforms:
